Brown-banded Cockroach
The brown-banded cockroach is a small indoor roach separated from the German cockroach by two pale bands running across the wings and body rather than stripes behind the head. It tolerates drier conditions, so it turns up in bedrooms, closets, desks and electronics well away from plumbing.

- Light brown with two yellowish transverse bands. Males look narrow with full wings; females are broader with short wings and cannot fly.

- Small, banded, with a lighter overall tone than a German cockroach.

- Behavior
- Prefers warm, high, dry locations — upper cabinets, picture frames, curtain rods, television and appliance housings. Females glue egg cases to hidden surfaces.

- Furniture voids, closet shelving, electronics, ceiling corners, desks and drawers.
- Diet
- Starches, paper, glue, fabric sizing and food residue.
- Lifecycle
- Egg case to nymph to adult in roughly two to six months indoors.
